New 2013 Curriculum

I can't tell you how excited I am about the new curriculum for 2013 for the YW and other auxiliaries!  What a great study program this will be for all of us as leaders as well as the YW if they so choose to make it their study program as well!  How fun it is to watch the YW grow and gain testimonies of the gospel and this program is going to help with that even more!  In October, almost everyone of our YW bore their testimony, either in Sacrament meeting or in our Young Women meeting!  It was so awesome!  I came home from church that day so happy!  So blessed!  If you have some fun ideas on how you are incorporating the new curriculum, let the rest of us know too!

Young Women In Excellence! - Mahomet Ward

Our Young Women in Excellence Program was November 14, 2012. Our theme was "Arise and Shine Forth". I know, completely original, right? Our girls definitely arise and shine forth all the time. They got to sing in Stake Conference - Special Youth Conference and did a fabulous job singing "Guardians of Virtue" along with the Young Men in our Ward and the youth of the Urbana Ward as well. For our YWIE program, I will attach a copy of our program to help those of you who are still planning yours. And so were their parents! Such an exciting night!
And we want to add a picture of our Programs - cut on my Silhouette Cameo machine!

My counselors and the Laurel Advisor decorated the room FABULOUSLY for us! It was so beautiful! I was so amazed at how much work they did and made the whole night magical! Yes, Sonja Knight and Linda Hobson folded over 600 paper boxes to put over the lights!  So awesome!  Jill Skousen made the Arise and Shine backdrop that was BEAUTIFUL and she also did silhouettes of some of the young women.

Jill designed the game "Getting to Know your Buds" and we had such fun trying to figure out the one girl who went with the one clue.  We found out things about each Young Woman that we didn't know before - like "This girl is nicknamed after a Book of Mormon Mountain! - Shlem!  - Emma Winkler!  Too cute!

Cherissa Johnson, a Laurel, made a video presentation of pictures of all of the Young Women!  It was wonderful!  We presented 2 Young Womenhood Recognition Awards - one to KaSandra and one to me, LynnEl Springer as President of the YW.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful the young women are in our ward, nor can I say enough about my counselors, secretary, and the advisors we have!  They are fantastic.  I love them all so much!  It was a FANTASTIC night!

Champaign Stake Girl's Camp 2011

It's been nearly a year since Girl's Camp 2011.  I think the YW had a great time and the leaders planned an excellent week.  The weather was HOT, but that's to be expected in central Illinois in the month of August.  I am getting excited for the upcoming week of camp this year!  Now that I have found this blog, I will upload the photos from last year and hopefully, will be able to post some for this year closer to the close of camp! :)

Just skimming through the pics again....If you want an explanation for the lovely photos of armpit 'hair' I suggest you contact Susan Bundy!  :)  Sorry for the lack of order of the photos, blogger just added them that way.  :)
